Bio
Dr. Mandelbaum graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University, with honors in psychology. At Columbia, she was awarded the the Jennifer A. Pack prize for excellence in psychological research. Dr. Mandelbaum then went on to receive her Ph.D. from Long Island University (LIU) in Brooklyn, where she focused on clinical practice and research on personality disorders in young adult populations. As part of her doctoral training, Dr. Mandelbaum worked in a variety of settings across New York City, building skills in group and individual psychotherapy and assessment across a range of patient populations. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and her post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders (CITPD) at Mount Sinai West. Dr. Mandelbaum is a former supervising psychologist at CITPD, where she worked in the program’s Young Adult track. Currently, Dr. Mandelbaum is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine, and she is a supervising psychologist for the doctoral candidates at LIU—Brooklyn. Dr. Mandelbaum maintains a private practice devoted to conducting psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and younger adults. She is an analytic candidate in the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy, where she is focusing on developmental psychoanalysis.
